Indian Cricket Team Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced the first addition Bike Festival of India (BFI). The festival will be held in October 2014 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida. BFI will be jointly organised by Event Capital, an event management subsidiary of Laqshya Media Group and Rhiti Sports India.
According to BFI officials, the festival will serve as a one of its kind platform for the bike lovers with a prime focus of emphasising on the importance of safety.
BFI also aims to become South East Asia’s largest biking festival and will bring together more than 120 biking communities from across the country in a series of events.
Talking about the BFI, MS Dhoni said, “Biking for me is a passion, which is why I am excited to be part of this initiative that not only is an adventure in its form but also promotes safe biking. BFI will be an annual platform for the biking community to meet, interact and share adventures together. Meeting with the presidents of various biking communities from all over India has been enlightening and I look forward to joining them sometime on the track.”
BFI will commence with a cross-country bike ride in the first quarter of 2014, mapping each and every state in the country. This will be at least a month long and is expected to put India in the Guinness World Records. This will be followed by a racing championship at BIC and TSD Rally Championship. Scheduled for October, the festival will hold various stunt shows, motorcycle accessories and food stalls. There will be no professional restriction to participate in the Bike Festival of India and will be open for any bike lover in the country.
