Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd today officially disclosed the figures of the company’s performance in terms of its auto sales for the month of February 2019. The respective sales record was at 56,005 vehicle units in comparison with the 51,127 vehicles sold in February 2018, which is an increase of 10%.
M & M Ltd. is the part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group and the firm’s domestic sales recorded a figure of 52,915 units in February 2019, compared to 48,473 vehicle units in February 2018, which is again a rise of 9%. The passenger vehicles segment, consisting of cars, UVs and vans, recorded a sales total of 26,109 units in February 2019, much higher than the figure of 22,389 vehicles in the month of February 2018, marking a jump of 17%.
In terms of the commercial vehicles category, Mahindra and Mahindra sales numbers stood at 21,154 vehicle units during the month of February 2019, as compared to the mark of 20,946 units during February 2018, recording a marginal growth. And on the other hand, with regard to the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles category, the company registered a monthly sales total of 686 units during the month of February. And in terms of exports figures, the number touched a total of 3,090 vehicles which is an increase of 16%, during February 2019.
Speaking on this development and overall performance, Rajan Wadhera, President of Automotive Sector at M & M Ltd said, “The month of February has augured well for Mahindra. We have witnessed a strong double-digit growth of 16% in our UV portfolio, on the back of our newly launched XUV300 model. Further, the overall growth for the month has been around 10%. On a YTD basis too, we have shown a strong growth of 12% at an overall level.”
