Mahindra e-KUV100 India launch is expected to take place within six months media reports indicate. The company’s Managing Director, Dr Pawan Goenka had earlier announced that the e-KUV100 will launch by mid-2019, however, the launch seems to have been postponed by a couple of months. The electrified KUV100 was first revealed at the last year’s Auto Expo. Interestingly, it would be the first SUV in India to get an electric motor.
While Mahindra is a pioneer in the electric segment in India, the company is currently focusing at rolling out electric versions of its ICE-powered models. It will, however, bring all-new models once dedicated EVs become an integral part of the Indian market and start getting traction. The e-KUV100 gets an electric motor which makes 30 kW (40.79 PS). This motor is powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack which is claimed to offer an impressive range of 140 km. It will additionally come with fast charging, allowing to charge 80 per cent of the battery in less than an hour.
Mahindra’s electric micro-SUV comes equipped with a host of connectivity and comfort features such as cabin pre-cooling, remote diagnostics and location tracking among others. Aside from the aforementioned enhancements, the car can also monitor the driving pattern.

Currently, Mahindra offers e-Verito in the domestic market and with e-KUV100, it will add another model to its electric range. The company is also working on an electric version of its compact SUV, XUV300 which according to reports is expected to launch sometime next year. It is being developed under the codename S210 and will ostensibly offer an impressive range of 350 to 400 km. The e-SUV will reportedly be offered with two powertrain options, including a basic version and a long-range version. Mahindra is yet to announce if it will roll out both the versions at the time of launch.
