Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL) sold 13,659 units this July as compared to 14,612 units it sold last July. This 6.5% drop in the sales figures is not a worrisome situation for Mahindra as it has performed exceptionally well in the first four months of the current financial year. Mahindra also reported a 64% increase in its sales of two-wheelers from months April-July. The highly competitively priced and very famous Centuro can be blamed for this increase in its sales. Exports stood at 1,329 units in the month of July.
Commenting on the impressive growth in the first four months, Mr. Viren Popli, Chief of Operations, Mahindra Two Wheeler Limited said, "The market sentiment has been positive overall and our sales continue to be driven by the demand for the Centuro motorcycle. We are confident of significant growth considering increasing demand for the Centuro and exciting new products and variants which we have lined up over the next two months leading up to the festive season.”
To boost its sales in the future, MTWL will launch four new models by the end of this year. This will include an all-new scooter and an entry level motorcycle which will cater to the 100-110cc segment buyers along with two new variants of its existing motorcycles. The company also plans to enter markets like Colombia and Nigeria which should increase the number of international markets it is present in to 15.
