Mahindra Introduced The New Age XUV500 Automatic

Snapshot: Mahindra introduces the New Age XUV500 comes with a new 6-speed Automatic Transmission, an AWD option and several hi-tech features.

Today, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the home-grown carmaker and India’s leading SUV manufacturer, has launched the Automatic version of the New Age XUV500 in the country. The company offers the Automatic Option in three variants of the New Age XUV500 - W8 FWD and W10 FWD & AWD. The Automatic W8 FWD will be available at Mahindra Dealerships from December 5, 2015 onwards, at an introductory price of Rs 15.36 lakh (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai*).

Speaking on the launch Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd said, "The XUV500 broke new ground for Mahindra when it was first launched in 2011 and with the launch of the New Age XUV500 earlier this year we have emerged as a strong player in the premium SUV segment. At Mahindra, it is our constant endeavor to offer advanced and accessible technologies to our customers. The XUV500 already has many technology firsts to its credit and now we have further pushed the boundaries with the introduction of the XUV500 Automatic. Being a listening organization, we constantly incorporate consumer insights and feedback and I am sure that this variant will be an instant hit with our customers.”

The XUV500 is the only SUV in the brand family, offering a 2nd generation 6-speed automatic transmission with AWD as an option and this Automatic Transmission has been sourced for the first time by the leading global suppliers, AISIN, Japan. Some of the key features offered by this All New Automatic Transmission are Fully Automatic Gearbox with Optimized gear ratios, Automatic transmission with AWD, Intelligent adaptation to terrains and altitudes, Easy cruising in City, Manual Mode.

Mahindra XUV500 will be offered with 2.2-litre mhawk motor with 5th generation Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) engine that delivers 138 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. Talking about the safety, the XUV500 facelift comes with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Control.
