Mahindra is expected to introduce two new electric cars to the Indian market by 2019, which will join the existing EVs, Mahindra e2o Plus and Mahindra e-Verito. The Mahindra KUV100 EV is one of the two upcoming electric cars from the manufacturer.

Recently, Mahindra launched the facelifted version of the Mahindra KUV 100 as KUV100 NXT and the spied test mule looks similar to this latest model. The testing model features a finely finished exterior in Fiery Orange shade along with a Midnight Black coloured rear bumper. However, the rear hatch of the unit is unpainted.

The Indian car manufacturer, Mahindra has been the first car manufacturer to introduce an electric car in the Indian market. Now, the company is planning to invest around Rs. 4,000 crores to develop more EVs over the next 3-5 years. It has taken the Indian government’s plan of electrifying all the vehicles by the end of 2030 very seriously and is working effectively towards the larger goal.

Mahindra is developing new powertrains for its upcoming electric cars, which could produce a power ranging between 41 bhp to 204 bhp. Along with this, Mahindra is expected to introduce higher capacity batteries in the upcoming EVs to boost up the driving range as well.

The introduction of Mahindra XUV Aero Electric to the Indian market has been reported earlier. Moreover, the concept model had already been showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and is currently in its production phase. Along with the KU100 EV, it could also see its light in the Indian market.
