The homegrown automaker, Mahindra is all-set for the launch of the KUV100, as the model was spied completely undisguised at a dealership yard, revealing some interesting new updates. The car yet to be launched, is in the sub 4-meter segment. The KUV100, where KUV stands for ‘Kool Utility Vehicle’ will be positioned below the recently launched TUV300.
Talking about the exterior, the KUV100 will sport a unique set of headlights with LED daytime running lights and turn indicators. The front fascia gets a black plastic cladded bumper, an airdam with large silver skid plate, and on the sides, it gets black underbody plastic covering while at the rear flared wheel arches and a set of twin 6 spoke alloy wheels are seen. It also features gets body coloured bumpers, electric ORVMs and roof mounted antenna.
The KUV100 is coming in a 3+3 seating configuration, where both front and rear passengers have centre arm rests. It also features power windows, illuminated key hole, Piano Black central console and multifunction steering wheel.
Under the hood, the engine is powered with an mFalcon 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine offering 82 hp peak power and an mFalcon 1.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine offering 77 HP power, and both the engines will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, As of now, AMT option will not be launched, but has been confirmed for launch, later.
The KUV100 is expected to be priced at Rs 4 lakh and will compete with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Wagon-R.
