Reports are rife that bookings for Mahindra’s upcoming Marazzo MPV have started at authorized dealerships for a token amount of Rs 10,000 ahead of its official launch on September 3, 2018. Giving an inkling of its styling and interiors, the company has released a couple of teasers ahead of launch, though an official unveiling is yet awaited. Given the images, the MPV seem to carry some new elements. Up front, it equips a 7-slat grille and twin-pod projector headlamps, while rear features shark tail-like lamps with LED units.
Insides of the new Mahindra Marazzo have been revealed through teaser images released by Mahindra which shows a dual-tone dashboard. A touchscreen infotainment system is layered inside which will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, a twin-pod instrument cluster highlighted by purple back light and window blinds that infuse premium look. The cabin features roof mounted, centrally located AC system with multiple vents. Mahindra Marazzo is expected to be available with 7 and 8 seat layouts. While the seven-seat version will get captain seats in the second row, the eight-seater model is expected to come with a bench seat for the second row.
Mechanical set-up on the Marazzo could include a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder oil burner that is estimated to produce maximum power of 128 bhp along with peak torque of 300 Nm. This diesel unit will come paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. Though Mahindra has not revealed the exact specifications, it is likely to be launched with a diesel option at launch and there could be an automatic transmission as well.
On the safety front, expect the premium MPV to pack dual front airbags, anti-lock-braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and rear parking sensors. For those not in the know, Marazzo is an all-new product from Mahindra and it will not replace any model in its range. As for its pricing, it is likely to fall between Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.
