Mahindra & Mahindra, a few days back, revealed the images of Nuvosport SUV and announced that it would be launched on April 4, 2016 in the country. And, now the official website of the new SUV has gone live, showcasing a few images of the exterior design. As for exterior styling, the Nuvosport SUV flaunts a new front grille, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and a contoured hood. The new Mahindra offering also gets black plastic body cladding. However, the rear end is pretty identical to the Quanto and there is barely any updates. The interior cabin boasts of leather seats in dual-tone black and beige, while the dashboard is finished in beige. The seating arrangement is carried over from the Quanto, as it too has a couple of small jump seats at the rear. The flagship variant would feature 2-DIN music system with touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and eight-way adjustable seats with lumbar support as standard. Just so you know, all the aforementioned features are first-in-segment as neither of Nuvoport's contemporary come with these features.

The NuvoSport has been designed and developed in-house by the Mahindra design team, while the research and development of the vehicle has been carried out at the world class Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. Under the hood, the Nuvosport would have the Quanto's 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel engine, contrary to earlier reports which claimed that the new SUV would feature the TUV300's 1.5L engine. The Quanto's 1.5L engine develops 99bhp of top power and 240Nm of peak torque. Similar to the KUV100, it would have the power and economy modes to maximize fuel efficiency. The engine would be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while an AMT gearbox would be available as option. Mahindra Nuvosport would be at loggerheads with Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra TUV300, and Ford EcoSport. It is expected to be priced in a bracket of Rs. 6.50-8.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
