Mahindra has launched its Quanto replacement Compact SUV, the NuvoSport at an introductory price of Rs 7.35 Lakh (Ex showroom, Thane). The NuvoSport is designed and developed in-house, while the research and development was carried out at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. The first sub-4 metre offering by the brand will be offered in six variants – N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT.
The Quanto replacement received a major update to its exterior profile. With the all-new front fascia that features a beefier front end with new headlamps, Daytime running lights, new massive front bumper, and a hood scoop. Though, the side profile is somewhat similar to the Quanto but still gets new ORVMs, underbody cladding, and the footboard. The rear gets redesigned tail-lamps and the bumper cladding.
Speaking of the interior, the Nuvosport will be offered seven-seater layout with two jump seats in the boot, where the top-end variant will feature an eight-way adjustable front seat, cruise control, dual DIN touchscreen infotainment system, centre console system, Bluetooth connectivity, and reverse parking camera.
Mechanically, Mahindra NuvoSport will be powered by the same engine as the Quanto i.e. the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, tuned to offer better efficiency and slightly better performance with power figures producing 100bhp along with a peak torque of 240Nm. Transmission options on offer are a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT. Just like the Mahindra KUV100, the NuvoSport also comes with a PWR and ECO mode, to achieve better fuel efficiency.
