The scooter market is revving high in India and it is on its highest peak at the current time. Few days back we reported that Honda’s Activa dethroned the all time highest selling motorcycle Hero Splendor to top the charts in terms of sales figures. Though Indian scooter market still lacks the presence of premium scooters in India, apart from iconic Italian brand Vespa, there is no competition in the premium scooter market currently. Like we told you earlier Yamaha is working towards introducing their famous Burgman series scooters in India through the base model Burgman 125 which might kick-start premium scooters competition in the Indian market.

Apart from Vespa and Yamaha, Mahindra is now going in the same direction. Mahindra is planning on introducing scooters from the cult brand Peugeot in India. Last week it displayed three Peugeot scooters, Satelis, Django and the Metropolis at the dealer conference held at Mumbai last week. The Satlelis model that might be introduced to Indian market is the base Peugeot Satelis 125cc scooter, whereas Metropolis is a huge, triple tired 400cc scooter that looks unlike any other scooter present in the Indian scooter market. We cannot wait to put our legs over these scooters and we can only hope that Mahindra launches them soon, not like Mojo.
