The home-grown automajor Mahindra & Mahindra has now rolled out the Xylo D2 Maxx, which is the first 9-seater Xylo model. Competitively priced at Rs 7.12 lakh (BSIII, ex-showroom Mumbai), the D2 Maxx gets the additional last row of seats that are side facing. The company has brought the vehicle to target the taxi segment buyers.
To ensure that the new 9-seater variant looks different, the company has given it a new grille, new black bumper with sporty air dams and wheel arches. Since, it's just a cosmetic and seating arrangement update given to the vehicle, mechanically it remains all the same. It continues to power the 2.5-litre mDI CRDe engine, which pumps out 93bhp and 220NM of peak torque. The engine returns an impressive 14.95kmpl (ARAI certified) of mileage. There are no changes inside the cabin as well.
Commenting on the introduction of the 9-seater version of the Xylo, Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said: "The Xylo D2 MAXX with the mDI CRDe engine is a variant of the Xylo, which delivers great mileage, low maintenance and maximum space, making it a very popular choice with the tour and travel segment. Today, we are delighted to offer our customers the 9 seats option with side-facing rear seats- a feature preferred by the tour and travel segment. Given that the Xylo has best-in-class space, the side facing seats will provide a great deal of flexibility for carrying people or luggage."
