Mahindra is prepping to launch its subcompact SUV being developed under the codename, S201 sometime in the first half of 2019. The spied model seems to be the production ready version of the subcompact SUV. Visually, the Mahindra S201 gets a large wraparound headlamps with black accents featuring projector units and integrated LED daytime running lamps as well as turn indicators. The spied image shows a camouflaged grille, albeit it does show the chrome detailing. A large air-dam is visible in front and it also gets horizontal shaped fog lamps.
At the side, it features sporty alloy wheels finished in black and large outside door mirrors. Accentuating the sporty look are the roof rails, placed atop. The earlier spy images of the SUV also give a peek into the rear styling that gets sweptback LED tail-lamps with integrated turn signals, high-mounted stop lamp and a spoiler.
The interior will feature a 5-seat layout and will come layered with a dual-tone dashboard and a large touchscreen infotainment system. There will be a large twin-pod instrument console with a central MID, a new steering wheel, cruise control and an engine start/stop button. Other bits such as two USB ports, AUX-IN and a 12V power socket will also be layered inside. As for the engine set-up, the details are obscure, though it is expected that Mahindra will use its 1.2-litre G80 turbo petrol and 1.5-litre oil burner. Both engines are likely to come with a 5-speed manual unit and there could be an AMT unit as well.
