Mahindra S201 is one of the most awaited compact SUV in Indian market. Based on the SsangYong Tivoli, the Mahindra S201 sub-4 metre compact SUV is expected to launch here sometime during festive season this year. Test mule of the car has been spotted several times and the latest spyshots reveal the glow pattern of the delta shaped LED taillights of the SUV.
Apart from the delta-shaped LED taillights, the roof spoiler mounted LED stop lamp too is visible. Despite being based on the SsangYong Tivoli, the Mahindra S201 will carry distinctive design elements all-across inside out. The SUV will compete with tough rivals like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V and Ford EcoSport. Expect the compact SUV to be available at a starting price of around Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The SUV will come sporting projector headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lights and large alloy wheels. Overall, it will get a masculine stance that is the signature styling element of the Mahindra cars. Inside the cabin, this five-seater car will get several upmarket features in order to boost the appeal. Interestingly, there will be a longer variant of the car as well, which will compete with Hyundai Creta upon launch.
Mahindra is also working on a new MPV that is internally codenamed as U321. This MPV will challenge the Toyota Innova Crysta upon launch in India. The Mahindra U321 too is expected to be launched in India sometime during festive season this year.
