Mahindra showcased a new Convertible SUV called the Stinger at the Auto Expo 2018. Based on the TUV300 platform, this SUV measures under 4 meter in length and uses a ladder frame chassis. This concept is expected to come with a 1.5 liter, twin-scroll turbocharger equipped 3 cylinder diesel engine producing a Peak power and Torque of 98.6 Bhp and 240 Nm.
This convertible is actually the new-gen SsangYong Rexton that will be marketed with a Mahindra brand in India. The new design language by this SUV with boxy portions and bolder characteristics is expected to be adopted by future Product Lines of Mahindra. This model is a 2-door SUV with a 2+2 seating layout. Along with a large touchscreen at the dashboard, Stinger has Off-road modes which can be controlled by a dial placed between the front seats.
Mahindra is yet to confirm if this product will ever see the production line.
