Mahindra owned SsangYong Motor Company launched its all-new B-segment Tivoli crossover last month in Korea. The Tivoli crossover SUV, which was launched in a price domain of Rs. 9.32-13.05 Lakhs, would now make its international debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month. The petrol variants of SsangYong Tivoli would go on sale globally from May, while the diesel and 4X4 variants would commence sale by July 2015.
The new car takes its name from Tivoli, the Italian town near Rome with a reputation for style, and noted for its cultural heritage and beauty. For SsangYong, the new Tivoli is designed to provide inspiration and excitement, blending style and performance. Underpinning the contemporary city architecture and X100 platform, Tivoli is the first all-new vehicle from SsangYong after Mahindra's acquisition. Inside the cabin, Tivoli boasts an ergonomically designed D-shaped sports steering wheel with premium leather covering and heating function. Also, the music lovers can connect their smart phone with the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) cable, videos and music can be streamed to the 7 inch display screen, which is also linked with a rear view camera.
As for safety, it has 7 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), LED daytime running lights, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Under the hood, Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli has 1.6L petrol as well as diesel engines. The newly developed e-XGi160 petrol engine delivers 124 bhp of maximum power with 157Nm of maximum torque. It is on offer with an AISIN 6-speed automatic transmission. This highly-praised SUV is also expected to make its way to India by the end of 2015; however, the company hasn't officially confirmed it yet.
