Mahindra SsangYong to bring Rexton 'RX6' soon

Mahindra SsangYong is working on a new variant 'RX6' of their SUV Rexton. The Rexton is currently available in two trims, the RX5 with a manual-transmission and RX7 which comes with an automatic gearbox and several additional goodies.

Reportedly, the RX6 will offer all the bells and whistles of the features top-of-the-line RX7 variant and will be powered by the detuned version of engine mated with a 5-speed gearbox of the RX5. Rexton RX6 features electrically-adjustable seats with memory function, electric sunroof, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, leather upholstery, LED daytime running lamps and AWD (all-wheel drive). 

Powered by a common 2.7-litre diesel engine sourced from Mercedes, the RX5 develops 162 bhp and 340 Nm of torque, while the RX7 makes 184 bhp and 402 Nm of torque. The RX6 will sport identical specifications as the RX5. The RX5 is priced at INR 18.87 lakhs while the RX7 costs INR 21.1 lakhs (ex.showroom, Delhi). And needless to say, the RX6 will be priced in between the two.
