Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automajor, has rolled out the limited 'Adventure Edition' of its off-roader Thar in the country. However, it will be available at selected company dealer outlets with only 30 units. The Adventure Edition Thar comes loaded with several cosmetic upgrades both inside and outside, albeit it remains the same, mechanically.

Talking about the exteriors, The Adventure Edition comes with an all-new Java brown colour with first ever unique Adventure body wrap with a 2 D map & compass. In addition, the company has incorporated head lamp and tail lamp protector & chaff screen for extreme survival missions. The wheel arch extensions lend the Thar off-roader attitude and butch look. Inside the cabin, the seat covers are done in dual-tone black & orange piping with 'Adventure Edition' badging. The centre console is an entirely new one that takes care of securing basic equipment on the move. Also, the moulded floor mats are on offer which aid in self-recovery & camping requirements as well.

Mechanically, the Thar retains the 2.5L, 4-cylinder, CRDe turbo diesel engine that generates 103 bhp of peak power and 247 Nm of top torque. It is paired with a five speed manual gearbox which drives the rear wheels of the Thar in 2WD mode. The off-roader SUV, though, also comes with a 4WD system and since it is the 'Adventure Edition', it is expected to come with an All-Wheel-Drive system only. The company hasn't disclosed the price of this limited edition, which is an exclusive for India.
