Mahindra & Mahindra, basking high in the glory of 2015 new Mahindra XUV500, has also announced that it would launch 9 products in this fiscal year. The first product out of these nine new ones is the recently launched XUV500 facelift. The company revealed that it would launch two all-new compact SUVs in form of U301 and S101, which would be priced lower than its existing offerings.
Shedding the light on the upcoming Mahindra cars in India, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, said that company is looking to further consolidate its position in the Indian market by expanding its portfolio and launching new products. Goenka, without taking names, also told that apart from the two all-new compact SUVs, the company is intending to introduce three major facelifts and three minor facelifts of its exisitng crop of vehicles. These facelift versions include Quanto, Thar, Xylo, etc. to name a few. In addition, it was revealed that Mahindra would launch an electric variant of its not-so-successful Verito sedan to revive up its sales and give it a new life.
Mahindra also confirmed that it wouldn't invest any more on the petrol and diesel versions of the Verito. The compacy is eyeing to earn profit from the recently launched FAME initiative by the Government of India, which grants subsidy on electric vehicles and thus making them cheaper in price. Just so you know, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift has a general waiting period of around 2-3 weeks and can be pre-booked at a token amount of Rs. 25000 at all Mahindra dealerships across the nation.
