Launched in September last year, the Mahindra TUV300 has a power output of 84bhp and 230Nm of torque. It seems Mahindra is on a launch spree where it launched the NuvoSport. And now, the company is planning to introduce a more powerful version of the TUV300 that will draw its power from a 1.5-litre mHawk80 turbo diesel engine, the same that serves Mahindra NuvoSport.
Currently, it is powered by Mahindra’s 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHawk80 turbo diesel engine, capable to churn out 84bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. Once introduced in the NuvoSport’s engine, the Mahindra’s new mHawk80 engine, that can produce 100bhp of power and 240Nm of torque., that means the TUV300 will some extra torque too. And similar to the ongoing model, the more powered version will continue to be offered with an option of a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT also known as AutoShift.
The company claims Mahindra NuvoSport to return a mileage of 17.45kmpl and the Mahindra TUV300 100bhp version is also likely to claim the same efficiency. The TUV300 compact SUV rivals with Ford EcoSport diesel variant that delivers 99bhp and 2015Nm of torque. The new 100bhp version is likely to appeal to buyers on the specification front compared to the regular 84bhp version.
