Much awaited Mahindra U321 MPV’s name is finally set to be out tomorrow. The Toyota Innova Crysta rivaling MPV has been making headlines for quite some time and Mahindra MD Pawan Goenka will now share the details about this car. Mahindra U321 is the first passenger car from the brand to be designed by the automaker’s North American Technical Centre.
Based on a new lightweight, rigid platform, the Mahindra U321 MPV will be assembled at the Nasik facility of the brand. Apart from Indian market, Mahindra will also target several overseas markets with this model. It will be available in both seven and eight-seater options. What’s interesting is, Mahindra aims to offer the U321 as a premium model.
The Mahindra U321 MPV will not only offer generous space to the occupants. It will also get several upmarket features for sure. There will be a large touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from that, automatic climate control, upmarket seat and upholstery material will be there as well.
Speaking about the powertrains of the upcoming MPV, it will be powered by an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine that is capable of churning out 119 bhp of peak power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty will be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and there will be a 6-speed automatic unit as well.
