Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the W9 variant of XUV500 at a sticker price of Rs. 15.45 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Mahindra XUV500 W9 will be available in both manual and automatic transmission modes. The W9 variant comes loaded with several aspirational features such as an Electric Sunroof with Anti-pinch, Reverse Camera with Dynamic Assist, 7-inch touchscreen Infotainment System, Industry First Ecosense Technology, Android Auto, Emergency Call, Dual Airbags & more.

Speaking about the launch of the XUV500 W9 variant, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing - Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said, "Since its launch in 2011, the XUV500 has been a pioneer in providing innovative hi-tech features that are not available even in vehicles that are almost double its price. We are certain that the introduction of these hi-end features at such a competitive price point will generate a lot of interest amongst prospects who are evaluating SUVs in the price range of 14 lacs to 18 lacs. By introducing these aspirational features at this price, XUV500 has raised the bar once again.” With the launch of W9 variant today, electric sunroof will be available in 2 variants: W9 and W10.
The XUV500 gets top-notch safety features in form of Static Bending Headlamps, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Rollover Mitigation, Push Button Start, Passive Keyless Entry and Tyre-tronics. Mechanically, it is powered by the same 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine with maximum power output of 140bhp at 3750rpm and peak torque performance of 330Nm between 1600-2800rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a 6-speed automatic transmission is also available. Mahindra XUV500 lock horns with the likes of Tata Hexa, Hyundai Creta, and Renault Captur in the Indian market.
