Already a true beast in standard guise, the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe is now even more insane in the best possible way as Mansory has thoroughly upgraded the high-performance coupe from Daimler. Work started under the hood where the twin-turbocharged V8 5.5-liter engine has been heavily reworked and it no longer pushes out 585 bhp and 900 Nm as the output numbers have increased to an astonishing 1,000 bhp and 1,400 Nm, with the torque being electronically limited to maintain the car’s reliability.
Unsurprisingly, the additional oomph has seriously improved the car’s performances as the 0-100 kmph now takes a mind-blowing 3.2 seconds which makes it a significant 0.7 seconds quicker than the regular S63 Coupe 4MATIC upon which the “Black Edition” from Mansory is based. It’s the same story with the top speed which has increased from the standard 250 kmph (electronically limited) to 300 kmph, also capped.
Only six of these are planned by the tuner and aside from getting a lot more power the cars will also feature a full carbon fiber body kit including reworked front and rear bumpers, vented hood, beefier side skirts and a prominent rear wing. To go with the body changes, Mansory has installed SPIDER 22-inch one-piece wheels matched with 255/30 ZR22 front and 295/25 ZR 22 rear Ultrac Sessanta tires from Vredestein.
The tuner hasn’t released any images with the interior cabin, but we do know the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition comes with numerous enhancements such as different leather upholstery for the seats which have also gained carbon inserts. It also has illuminated door sills, a new steering wheel and unique floor mats tailored to this limited-run tuning program.
Those who will attend the Frankfurt Motor Show should know the car will be on display starting next week when the 66th edition of IAA will open its doors.
