MapmyIndia made a smart move today and launched a new 'locate' app to add to the security of cab passengers in the country. The new app enables the passengers of Snap cab in Delhi/NCR region, n special cab service based out of Noida, to share their present location with friends and relatives once the user boards a snap cab. The Locate app runs on all mobile platforms- Android, iOS and windows and requires normal internet connection to update the tracking data.

“Safety is a big concern for everyone. No matter where we are or what we are doing, well-being of our loved ones is a worry that always lingers in some part of our mind. At MapmyIndia it has been our endeavor to leverage GPS technology to better the lives of Indians. I am happy to see that Snap Cab, by offering Locate app to its customers is addressing one of their major concerns. I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership,” says Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia.

The passenger can add upto ten contacts to update them with his/her present location after entering the cab. The use can either manually check-in movements, otherwise the application automatically updates the location every 500 metres. Reports are accessible not just in the app but also through a web/mobile web dashboard and can be viewed in detailed format for upto five days including date, time and location details.
