Before the lights went green this Sunday at Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina, most of the people had little or no doubt about the fact that unless things go terribly terrible, Marc Marquez is going to create history by the end of the race.
The first lap was wild, and gave many overtaking chances to almost all of the riders as anticipated by Nicky Hayden. By the end of first lap, Marquez was 7th and Lorenzo was the leader, a position he maintained till Marquez reclaimed his spot on the 17th lap. And just a lap before finish, Lorenzo's dreams of a glorious finish in 2014 were somewhat ruined by Pedrosa who overtook him in the penultimate lap. Rossi, who won the first three 500 cc races in the 2001 season started from 6th on the grid and slipped to seventh, but battled it back to finish 4th making it a glamorous finish line comprising Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi and Bradl.
After the first three races of the season, the standings are topped by Marquez with 75 points followed by Pedrosa with 56 points and not very far behind him is Rossi who is still positive about his chances with 41 points.
