Maruti Suzuki’s most raved about car, the Baleno has gone through five-digit price hikes thrice uptil now, and yet have not failed to generate the same amount of positive response seen when it was first launched. As per the NEXA dealers, the waiting period for laying hands on this vehicle still remains a minimum of six months. It is one of the top selling cars from the Japanese automaker and managed to sell 10,718 units in the previous month.
Earlier it was reported by us that the company was trying to do its best to curb the waiting period for which it took certain measure that included opening a brand new plant in Gujarat. The plant will come to life in 2017 January. This will result in an increase in production and also take down some burden off the Manesar and Gurgaon plants which are currently operational but are facing trouble at meeting the high demand of the vehicle.
Though the Baleno comes in both petrol and diesel variants, keeping in mind the ban in Delhi in larger diesel-powered vehicles, almost 80percent buyers are interested in the petrol variant as per the data of April-September 2016.
Also, the Baleno RS will be launched by Suzuki, which is another petrol model in the coming year. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo engine and a sportier body.
