The Delta variant costs Rs 19,000 more at Rs 7.51 lakh as opposed the previous price of Rs 7.32 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices of Zeta and Alpha variant have been increased by Rs 12,300 and Rs 12,900 at Rs 8.13 lakh and Rs 8.73 lakh respectively.Maruti Suzuki India has not specified any reason for the price hike. It recently launched BS VI petrol variants of Baleno petrol.
While the petrol range in the Baleno line-up has been upgraded with a BS VI petrol unit, the diesel variants continue to derive power from the BS IV oil burner. As reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki India will discontinue all its diesel cars by April 1, 2020. The decision comes in light of the upcoming BS VI emission norms that will come into force from April next year. Updating diesel variants with BS VI engines could scale up costs resulting in price hike.
