India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the long-awaited 2019 Baleno facelift in the country. The company claims that the new Baleno has been conceptualized for those who aspire for innovation tailored with class-leading features. The Maruti Baleno facelift is being offered in 4 trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha - in petrol and diesel fuel options. The manual petrol is priced between Rs 5.45 lakh for base model and Rs 8.77 lakh for the top-spec Alpha CVT unit. On the other hand, the Baleno diesel range starts at Rs 6.60 lakh for base Sigma diesel and goes up to Rs 8.60 lakh for the top-spec Alpha variant (Prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift is being offered in 6 exterior paint schemes - Pearl Arctic White, Premium Silver, Nexa Blue, Phoenix Red, Autumn Orange and Megma Grey. The hatchback now comes with a sportier front fascia with a wider stance. It features a new grille with dynamic 3D detailing, revised fog lamp housing with new garnish and LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights. The hatchback rides on newly developed precision cut dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.

Speaking on the new Baleno launch, Mr R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki, said, “Baleno has been a resounding success for Maruti Suzuki in the highly competitive premium hatchback segment. Recently it has achieved another landmark in its journey by achieving a milestone of 5 lac sales within a record time of 38 months. Keeping our customer centric philosophy at the core of product conceptualization, this new Baleno will further enhance the brand’s appeal. New Baleno offers a bold design, premium interior, enhanced safety and exceptional driving experience to the customers.”

Inside the cabin, the Maruti Baleno facelift receives subtle upgrades to give it a premium feel. Featuring black interior scheme, the hatchback comes with premium Blue detailing and new dual-tone seat fabric design. The hatchback comes with new generation 'Smartplay Studio' connected infotainment system that recently debuted in new WagonR. It comes with a new 17.78cm touch infotainment system combines smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services to offer a delightful driving experience. This system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, bluetooth audio and telephony, etc. In addition to the audio, the infotainment allows occupants to surf news, get the latest weather and traffic updates. The rear parking camera integration, navigation with live traffic and vehicle information & alerts on the screen further add to the driving convenience.

The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift is based on the HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift and Dzire. It comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder, speed alert and ISOFIX child restraint system as standard safety features. The Baleno facelift is available with 2 engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel. While the former is good for 82bhp and 115Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic (Petrol Only).
