As for the changes on the special edition Baleno, it receives cosmetic tweaks over the regular Baleno. The hatchback is available with a contrast grey body kit which comprises front, rear and side skirts. It also includes side body moulding. Additional bits on the inside include dual-tone seat covers with a quilted design, 3D floor mats, a smart key finder, cushions and illuminated scuff plates.

There are no changes to the mechanical set-up and it continues featuring the same engines. That said, the limited edition Baleno will be available with both petrol and diesel units. The petrol variants will use Maruti’s tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol engine good for maximum power of 83 bhp along with peak torque of 115 Nm. Diesel version gets the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre oil burner which puts out 74 bhp against 190 Nm torque.

With these additional bits, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno limited edition is expected to be available at an additional premium over the standard version. While the official pricing is yet to be revealed, the limited edition is estimated to cost around Rs 35,000 more than the regular Baleno. The regular Baleno is priced between Rs 5.39 lakh to Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As for Baleno, it is one of the top selling models in the segment which competes with Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz in its space. Launched in 2015, Maruti Baleno is expected to receive its first major facelift sometime next year.
