Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the Baleno Zeta automatic at an introductory price of Rs. 7.47 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Now, Maruti Baleno has two automatic variants: Delta and Zeta. The Delta variant with CVT auto gearbox missed out on several premium features, and hence, the company introduced the Zeta grade with CVT transmission. For those asking, Maruti Baleno CVT has a mileage of 21.40 kmpl (ARAI Certified).
Speaking about the features that the Baleno CVT Zeta carries, it gets a plethora of comfort and convenience such as chrome door handles, alloy wheels, UV cut glass, glove box illumination, luggage room illumination, front foot well illumination, multi-information speedometer display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, foglamps, auto headlamps, auto dimming IRVM, telescopic steering, follow me home headlamps, front center arm rest with storage, height adjustable driver seat, push button start / stop with smart key. Just so you know, the country's largest automaker has amassed over 1 Lakh orders for the hatch and the general waiting period is around 6 months.
Mechanically, the Baleno Zeta CVT comes with the same 1.2L K-Series petrol engine which belts out 83bhp of top power and 114Nm of peak torque. The power is transferred to the front wheels via the CVT gearbox. Though, the other variants come with 5-speed manual transmission as standard. It is also being learnt that Maruti would launch the Baleno RS during the festive season in October this year in the country with the keenly-awaited 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine. The Baleno hatch is the second vehicle after the S-Cross to be retailed via the NEXA premium dealerships. It is the first ever Maruti Suzuki model to be exported to Japan.
