Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched the Celerio ZXi AMT at a sticker price of Rs. 4.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) to commemorate the first anniversary of the car. It was launched at 2014 Indian Auto Expo in the country with both manual as well as automatic transmissions. New Maruti Celerio ZXI variant retains all the features of the standard ZXi variant. The deliveries of Celerio ZXi AMT are expected to commence from May 20, 2015.
The Celerio ZXi AMT boasts additional features like electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators, steering mounted audio control, tilt steering, rear washer/wiper body coloured wing mirrors and bumpers, andAudio player with radio, CD, USB, Bluetooth and AUX-in support. Untill now, the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) unit with Auto Gear Shift technology was only available with LXi (base) and VXi (mid) variants of the Celerio, and they also didn't feature airbags. But, with the ZXi variant, the buyers would get both the AMT and the airbags as well. However, the company still hasn't offered Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with the Celerio ZXi. Though, the brochure reads Driver side airbag, but the Celerio ZXi AMT comes with dual front airbags.
Mechanically, Maruti Celerio ZXi remains to be unchanged as it carries the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder K-series petrol engine with 67bhp of top power and 90Nm of highest torque. It returns a promising fuel economy of 23.1kmpl (ARAI Specified). The company would launch the Celerio diesel version, which would be powered by Maruti Suzuki's first self-developed 800cc, 2-pot diesel engine. It is expected that the Celerio diesel would be launched next month in June as the production of the same has already commenced at company's Manesar plant.
