Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the DZire Tour S CNG at a sticker price of Rs. 5.97 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The production of the sedan has already started and the dealer dispatch is expected to commence from mid-April as once the current stock of petrol variants gets sold out. It would be available in three colors: Pearl Metallic Arctic White, Metallic Silky Silver and Midnight Black. For those asking, Maruti DZire Tour S CNG is the previous generation of sedan sold to the taxi cab operators in the country.
As per the leaked document, the DZire Tour S CNG measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,555 mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2430mm. It packs the same 1.2L flex-fuel engine which is capable of running on both petrol and CNG fuels. It develops a maximum power of 83bhp at 6000rpm, however it has been reduced to 73bhp in the CNG mode. It would be offered with a 5-speed manual tranmsission, while the mileage figures are not disclosed yet. The Dzire Tour would have a top speed of 80kmph due to the speed governor made mandatory by the Government for the fleet taxis and cabs. The DZire Tour S replaced the DZire Tour in the Indian market in April last year when the new-generation sedan was launched.
Meanwhile, in other news, Maruti DZire has been the country's best-selling vehicle for the last three months on the trot. In February 2018, the company sold a whooping 20,941 units of the sedan, thereby registering a growth of 26 percent as compared to the same month last year. The all-new DZire was also the fastest to cross the 1 Lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. It outnumbered all its foes with a comfortable margin in the months of December, January and February. The DZire sedan lock horns with the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Tata Tigor in the country.
