Maruti Ertiga facelift would be unveiled at the 2015 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) on August 20, 2015 in Indonesia. But, prior to that, the new Ertiga MPV has been fully revealed on the eve of its media drive program in Indonesia. It is being learnt through sources that an India launch might take place in October around the festive season. For those asking, the Ertiga facelift boasts of several cosmetic changes, while the mechanicals are retained from the ongoing model.
Talking about the changes in depth, the Maruti Ertiga facelift gets a new triple-slat front grille with chorme finish, restyled bumper, new chrome bezels for the fog lamp inhousings and a revamped radiator grille. The side profile is carried over from the current model, except for the newly-designed alloy wheels. At the rear end, the company has made a handfull of changes in form of a new chrome embellishment above the registration plate area and enhanced tail-lamp reflectors.
Inside the cabin, there is a new faric upholstery with several new colors on offer with steering wheel as well. The third row seats in the new Ertiga are 50:50 split foldable. In addition, several upmarket features would be available like power-folding ORVMs, Auto Up power windows, and an optional socket console box in the second row. Giving a thumbs up to the need of incorporation of more safety features in cars in India, the company has offered dual front airbags as standard across the entire range.
Mechanically, Maruti Ertiga facelift would come loaded with the same set of petrol and diesel engine, albeit with a bit of tuning. Like we have seen in several new vehicles of Maruti, the new Ertiga's engines might also be retuned to get more fuel efficiency. The petrol variants would be powered by the same 1.4L K-Series VVT engine, which churns out 92bhp of top power and peak torque of 130Nm. It would be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and an AMT unit might also be in offing an optional.
