Maruti Ertiga facelift has finally been unveiled at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) today. The new ertiga comes with several cosmetic changes, while mechanically it is still the same. An India launch of new Maruti Ertiga is expected to happen during the festive season in October-November this year. Just so you know, Maruti Ertiga rivals the Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy, and segment-leader Toyota Innova.
Talking about the cosmetic changes in the Maruti Ertiga facelift, it now gets a new triple-slat chrome grille and redesigned bumper at the front. There are also chrome bezels incorporated for the fog lamp housing alongside a restyled radiator grille. The side profile of the updated MPV is largely identical to the preceding model. Coming to the rear end, there is a new chrome garnish above the registration plate. In addition, rear parking sensors and extended taillamp reflectors are included as well.
Inside the cabin, there is a new dark brown colored theme introduced for several parts such as the steering wheel and gear stalk. The Ertiga facelift comes with a new fabric upholstery, while the third row seats feature a 50:50 split option. Also available as standard features are power-folding ORVMs, Auto Up power window in the drivers side, optional socket console box in the second row, dual airbags and ABS.
New Maruti Ertiga would be carrying the same set of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variants are powered by the 1.4-liter K-Series (K14B) VVT petrol engine, while the diesel variants would carry the Fiat-sourced 1.3L Multi-jet motor. Both the engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The Indonesian model doesn't feature the AMT unit, contrary to several reports. However, the India-spec model might be launched with an AMT variant, when it launches in October 2015.
