And as always, Maruti Suzuki has performed brilliantly in the last month of gone year, with 5 out of the 10 vehicles in top 10 selling cars being their's. While many car launches were witnessed in 2014, none were able to rattle the kingdom of India's largest car manufacturer. Hyundai also performed well with 3 out of 10 vehicles being Hyundai. Others entry includes one Honda and one Mahindra.
While the Alto retained the top spot by selling more than 22000 units, Maruti Swift, Dzire and Wagon R, all selling more than 10000 units a month yet again proved that Maruti is the undisputed kind of budget cars. What was strange to see was Maruti Omni is among the top 10 selling cars in India, with more than 6000 units sold. Maruti Omni comes with no safety equipment, but its value for money proposition attracts customers.
Outselling all the Hyundai vehicles, was the Mahindra Bolero, which is the only SUV/MPV in the list. Bolero continues to sell in huge numbers and proved how much rural India loved this car. Hyundai featured in the list with its three cars, Elite i20, which continues to hold the Hyundai flag high, Grand i10 and Eon. The Honda City is the sole entry from Honda in the top 10 list and sold more than 6000 units, outselling its competitors with a healthy margin.
