Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the Ignis Limited Edition in the Indian market. It is the first limited edition model for the Ignis hatchback since its launch in the country in January 2017. Unfortunately, the Ignis has seen limited success as compared to the other vehicles in Maruti's portfolio and therefore, by introducing the limited edition with added features, the company intends to accentuate the sales figures during the festive season. Maruti Ignis is sold via the NEXA premium dealer outlets nationwide.

Speaking of the Maruti Ignis limited edition, it would get dealer-fitted accessories Rs 45,000. The accessories would be at the outside as well as inside the cabin. The exterior package would include side door cladding with ‘Ignis’ branding, a body kit with silver moulding on the side skirts and both bumpers and a tail-gate mounted rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, it would boast of premium seat covers. Since the limited edition model is based on the Delta grade, it will carry decent features in form of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual front airbags, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, electrically adjustable ORVMs and keyless entry etc. to name a few.
Mechanically, it would be offered only in petrol fuel trim as Maruti had officially discontinued the diesel variants in the starting of this year. The petrol variant would be powered by the same 1.2L engine which would develop top power of 83bhp and peak torque of 113Nm. It can be availed with the 5-speed manual as well as the 5-speed AMT gearbox. Although, the company has still not revealed the price of Ignis Limited Edition but it is expected to cost a few thousands over the standard Delta variants, which are priced between Rs 5.28-5.83 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi). Maruti Ignis takes on the likes of Ford Freestyle and Mahindra KUV100 NXT in the country.
