Maruti Suzuki Launches ‘Skill on Wheels’ to upgrade Vendors' Skills

Snapshot: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced a concept of upgrading the skills and capabilities of the vendors’ employees. Will impart training in Delhi NCR.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the concept of upgrading skills and capabilities of the employees at Maruti’s vendors. This new ‘Skill on Wheels’ mobile training centre will contact the Maruti Suzuki vendors situated in the Delhi-NCR for training their employees. The ‘Skill on Wheels’ is conceived as well as executed by MACE - Maruti Center for Excellence. It is a society made by Maruti Suzuki India Limited and its 21 vendor partners. ‘Skill on Wheels’ mobile centre will offer different pieces of training, including Energy Management, Low-Cost Automation, and Preventive & Predictive Maintenance. In addition, it will also provide quality, soft skills and safety training. 

Maruti Suzuki 'Skill on Wheels' Objective

Speaking about this initiative, Kenichi Ayukawa, CEO and Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that we are happy to begin such a unique initiative. Maruti’s prime importance is to offer quality products and services to its customers. Component and product quality levels could be attained only if the company have skilled employees across the manufacturing units at the Maruti Suzuki India Limited and supplier partners.

Founded in 2004, MACE is an initiative by Maruti Suzuki and vendor partners in order to attain the world-class quality, technology and cost through up-gradation of skills of its dealer partners' employees.

Maruti Suzuki "Skill on Wheels" Initiative

The MACE supports the dealers in different areas like Safety, Human Capital Development & Manufacturing Excellence, Manufacturing System Development, Consultancy & Training, and Safety. The MACE has created various customized behavioural and technical training programs to help the suppliers in achieving maximum productivity.

Continuing the discussion, Ayukawa said that the ‘Skill on Wheels” will make it to the locations in Delhi NCR to provide a great opportunity to enhance the skills of employees of vendor partners. The company is sure that its vendors will value the training facility which will be provided to them at the doorstep and will benefit from the initiative.
