Maruti has introduced the S-Cross limited edition at the 2016 Auto Expo. The S-Cross premium crossover was also announced as the official partner for Anil Kapoor-starrer ‘24’ Season 2. Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor and Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, and RS Kalsi, Executive Director, MSIL, raised the curtain of the limited edition S-Cross at the company pavilion. The limited edition gets several new features, while retaining the same set of engines.
Speaking about the new features of Maruti S-Cross limited edition, the premium crossover comes with chrome back door garnish, rear-end spoiler in black paint finish, and ORVM garnish in matt black finish. The interior cabin boasts of foot well lamp with blue ambient lighting, new carbon fibre trim on centre console and sporty pedal pad. Also, the Garmin transparent HUD can be seen alongwith rear seat entertainment system. The rear entertainment comprises of two LED screens, which are mounted behind the front seats. Just so you know, Maruti S-Cross rivals the likes of Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano.
The S-Cross comes with two diesel engines: 1.3L DDiS 200 and 1.6L DDiS 320. The former has a maximum power output of 89bhp and peak torque of 200Nm, while the latter delivers 118bhp of top power and 320Nm of highest torque. The 1.3L engine and the 1.6L engine are linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual transmission, respectively. The company had launched the S-Cross in August 2015 at a starting price of Rs. 8.34 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). However, the model couldn't generate the expected buzz and sales in the market. Hence, the country's largest automaker even offered hefty discounts of upto Rs. 2 Lakhs to accentuate the sales.
