Maruti Suzuki has launched a new variant of the Ertiga MPV in form of 'Tour M' in the country. Identical to the DZire Tour S, this new variant is specifically targeted towards the fleet taxi and cab operators. Although, Maruti hasn't announced the official pricing yet but it is expected to be retailed at around Rs 8 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
Maruti Ertiga Tour M will flaunt a chrome grille and projector headlamps at the front. In addition, it will have body-coloured door handles and wheel caps while the turn indicators will be integrated in the ORVMs. The cabin will feature a dual-tone dashboard with head rests in all the three rows. It comes all the features of the VXi trim such as coloured MID, an audio system with AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio and call controls, four speakers, first and second row 12V power outlets etc. to name a few. Other standard features include power steering, front and rear power windows, remote central locking and electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs.
As far as the safety features are concerned, the Ertiga Tour M will be packed with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors and speed limiter with limit set upto 80kmph. Mechanically, it will draw power from the 1.5L K15B petrol engine which generates top power of 105bhp and peak torque of 138Nm. Although, this engine is not a BS VI compliant unit. It can only be availed with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is also learnt that the company will also offer a factory-fitted CNG kit with the MPV due to its immense popularity and being budget-friendly on the pocket.
