Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated model of the Alto, which is India’s top ranker in the sales chart, starting at Rs 2.49 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Now the Maruti Alto facelift comes with a more attractive front styling, fresh interiors, and vibrant colours. Not only this, the company claims the new model to be 9 percent more fuel efficient, that means it will deliver a fuel efficiency of 24.7 Kmpl of petrol, while the in the CNG mode it will offer a mileage of 33.44 Km/Kg.

Talking about the styling tweaks, the front fascia of the Alto facelift gets a new Aero Edge Design with some additional touch on the hood, giving it a sporty appearance, lower grille is wider, new headlight cluster and provision of fog lamps in the bumper. The redesigned bumpers increases the exterior length of the vehicle by 35mm. Maruti Suzuki has added two additional colour options - Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue. Inside, it will get a new dark grey interior colour along with stylish new seat and door trim fabric, while smart storage spaces like rear bottle holder and co-driver side map pocket have been introduced in the Alto 800. Rear seat now comes with integrated headrest, making it more comfortable for the rear passengers.
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 facelift is powered by an 800cc unit tuned for enhanced driving pleasure and excellent fuel economy, cranking a power of 47bhp @6000rpm and 69Nm @ 3500rpm. The new engine provides excellent torque at low rpms, enabling less frequent gear change. In terms of safety, driver side airbags are available as an option from the base variant onwards, passenger side ORVM comes now as standard, while on the top-end model of the Alto 800 comes with a rear door child lock.
