Country’s best selling car, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 gets a facelift and was spotted at a dealer’s yard in Goa. Expected to be launched soon, the Alto facelift got some tweaks in the exterior at the front. It seems the Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to get back on its sales digits and also to get back in the competition with its rival, the Renault Kwid and the upcoming Datsun redi-Go.
Speaking of the exterior, the Alto facelift gets some tweaks up front that includes a redesigned squarish bumper housing large air dams with horizontal slats and also have provision for foglight enclosures, sleek grille, but without any chrome finishing, while the placement of the brand logo has been changed from the front grille onto the bumper, and new headlight clusters. Apart from this there are no changes on the sides and at the rear. The interior of the new Alto is untouched except the door panels get a lighter shade of material.
The existing model of the Maruti Suzuki Alto is offered in petrol and CNG options and it will be powered by the same 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces maximum power of 47bhp @ 6000rpm and 69Nm @ 3500rpm of peak torque.
Offered in 10 variants, the Alto 800 has been a promising product for the company, maintaining sales on the Top 10 Selling cars chart. And now feeling the heat of the Kwid and the Tiago, the brand want to keep up with its market share.
