On Saturday, Maruti Suzuki launched the limited editions of the Alto 800 and K10 which are inspired by the famous Indian cricketer M.S Dhoni. Maruti Suzuki is associated with the movie makers of the biopic 'M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story' which is based on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s life and will be in the theatres soon. These cars will be sold from the month of October all across India, but nothing is known yet about their pricing.
According to R.S.Kalsi, the Marketing and Sales Executive Director of Maruti Suzuki, Alto is associated with the movie due to the massive popularity of the cricketer. M.S.Dhoni is widely loved and is an iconic figure to us. In the same way, Alto is a car we have all grown to love and is recognized by Indians across the country. Infact it is the only car brand that sells 30lakh units cumulatively. Both, the car as well as the cricketer are unique, and have dynamic leadership qualities, hence it is quite fitting to associate them together as both have achieved stardom in their respective fields.
Coming to the looks, both the special edition models of Maruti Suzuki Alto cars will have M.S. Dhoni’s signature decal, Seat covers with the numeric ‘7’ on them, body graphics, high-end music system, a bar graph display, a single-DIN radio with MP3, AUX, USB connectivity, reverse parking sensors, steering wheel cover, ambient lighting, a spoiler, a door sill guard along with few promotional merchandise. The cars will be available in two colour combinations for the interiors - black with silver and red with blue.
The engine will be powered by a 796cc engine with a bhp of 47.3bhp for the Alto 800, while the Alto K10 will be powered by a 998cc engine churning at the speed of 67bhp.
