Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback Baleno was launched on October 26 at a price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex showroom Delhi), and the brand sold 9,074 units of this model with its strategic marketing campaign, holding the sixth position in the list of the 10 largest selling cars. Baleno surpassed one of the best selling car Elite i20 by Hyundai Motor India, this model faced a decline of 22 percent, selling 8,246 units and making a drop in its position from fifth to seventh.
Maruti Suzuki Swift, after its sales decreased by 34 percent went down to a fifth position when compared with November 2014. Swift, India's one of the leading cars in the hatchback segment and which mostly remained in the top three positions, sold 17,900 units in November 2014. The Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda faced a decline of 13 percent in sales of the City. This mid sized sedan was positioned at the last slot, after it sold 6,342 units during November 2015.
Maruti Suzuki's compact sedan Dzire jumped 57 percent of its sales, it sold 18,826 units in November 2015 as against 12,020 units for the corresponding month previous year, acquiring the second slot in the list. Its mini car Alto maintained a position in the first slot, though its sales declined by 9 percent and Maruti WagonR's sales were up 3 percent and it maintained its third position in November 2015 when compared to the corresponding month last year.
Hyundai Grand i10 registered a hike of 54 percent, it sold 12,899 units as against 8,396 units during November 2014. Maintaining its position at eight, Hyundai Eon increased 8 percent of its sales last month. Comparing the sales of October 2015, the numbers of rest all of the cars in the list have decreased in November 2015, except Eon and Celerio.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), India's largest car manufacturer by volume, will be putting all its effort to dominate the list of top 10 selling cars in the month of December 2015 also, with seven of its cars holding the slots in the list in November.
