The Maruti Suzuki Celerio, most-awaited hatchback of the recent time, is officially revealed before its launch at the 2014 AutoExpo India. The automaker has vouchsafed the details by launching the product's website on the web world. However, the Celerio has not been unwrapped completely but company advised a few details of the upcoming model. The first time introduction of Automated Manual transmission along with the impressive ARAI certified mileage of 23.1 km/lt., Maruti is expecting Celerio to redefine the meaning of urban city driving.

The Maruti Celerio is enriched with the company's newly-derived EZ expression. Even the company, on its website, is encouraging the product highlights among EZ Drive, EZ Technology, EZ Style and EZ Gizmos categories. Loaded with the comfort features like stereo, steering mounted audio controls, bluetooth connectivity, electric ORVMs and adequate amount of cabin space that has 235 litres large boot. The new Celerio will be powered by the company's tried and tested 1.0-litre K-Series engine that has been serving flawless duty on several models since years.

Interestingly, Maruti is debuting the company's first and India's first Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on Celerio. The interesting part of the AMT is that it works like a manual transmission but doesn't require the manual clutch input results a less tiring driving experience in urban areas. Alongside providing the advantage of automated transmission, Maruti engineers have worked over engine and packed it with drive-by-wire technology that makes the engine more fuel efficient with increased power.

The country's own automaker has loosed its pace in the mid-size hatchback segment in India. The company is now bringing in the Celerio as a replacement for its unsuccessful A-Star to counter the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 in the market. And, arguably, the Celerio seems a much auspicious package this time. The company has started taking bookings for the Celerio however the prices are expected to be declared at its world debut at the upcoming auto show on our homeland.
