Maruti Suzuki - the Indian car manufacturing giant has launched the latest Celerio model with BS6 compliant powertrain. The new Celerio model's price range starts from Rs 4.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the LXI version and goes up till Rs 5.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the ZXi AMT version. The BS6 Celerio price has been increased by Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,000 in comparison with the BS4 Celerio models.
The upgraded Celerio is part of the standardization exercise on most of the carmaker's range, to follow the new emission rules set by the government, that kicks in from the 1st of April 2020, except the Alto K10, Celerio X and the Ignis models.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio engine is a 998cc, 3-cylinder petrol powertrain that generates 90Nm of maximum torque and 68hp of peak power. The newly updated Maruti car's engine gets two gearbox options to choose from - an AMT automatic and a five-speed manual transmission.
Apart from the aforementioned updates, the overall design and looks remain the same and the 2019 Celerio got an upgrade with regard to the new automotive safety regulations.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio competes with Datsun Go, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and the Tata Tiago facelift - which will be launched soon.
