Maruti Suzuki Ciaz becomes the Best Seller for the Third Time in a row

Snapshot: The premium sedan Maruti Suzuki Ciaz clinches the title for the third time in a row. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has 30 per cent market share. The homegrown brand sold more than 46,000 units of Ciaz in 2018-19.

The homegrown automaker Maruti Suzuki's premium sedan Ciaz has become the best seller for the third time in a row. Ciaz registered 30 per cent market share in the last fiscal year and 46,000 units of the car were sold. Since its launch in 2014, more than 2.5 lakh units of Ciaz has been sold by Maruti Suzuki, making it one of the loved products of the homegrown automaker.

As reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki recently updated the Ciaz with all-new 1.5-litre petrol equipped with Maruti's futuristic Smart Hybrid technology and 1.5-litre diesel enignes. Both the engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The brand new engines pack increased power, torque, fuel efficiency and overall performance. This has certainly caught the imagination of the young Indian executives. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz also offers an array of safety features like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ISOFIX child restraint system and high-speed warning alert etc.

Talking about numbers, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz's signature colour scheme - the Nexa Blue contributes more than 31 per cent to the total sales and the top variant has added around 48 per cent to the sales figures. For the update, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a number of hybrid and electric models, expected to hit the Indian market by 2020.
