Advance bookings of the long awaited mid-size sedan Maruti Ciaz commence today. Maruti Suzuki, the largest Indian car manufacturer revealed that the sedan will be made available in both petrol and diesel versions, powered by a 1.4L and 1.3L powertrains respectively.
"We have planned the global launch of Ciaz in the forthcoming festive season," stated a company official. Ciaz is to be priced between 7.20 to 11.50 lakh to give a tough head to the obvious competitors - Honda City and Hyundai Verna, which hold similar price tags.
The fuel efficiency of the diesel version has been claimed by Maruti to be 26.21kmpl, whereas the petrol version is to give a mileage of 20.73kmpl. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is to replace the SX4, which couldn't do much despite efforts to gain emphasized presence in the mid-size sedan segment.
