On the powertrain front, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz currently draws energy from a 1.4-litre petrol engine and there is a Fiat-soured 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine on offer. The Fiat-sourced diesel motor will be replaced by an indigenously built 1.5-litre diesel engine in the facelifted Ciaz, while the 1.4-litre petrol unit will continue. Expect the petrol engine to generate more power and torque output compared to the current model. Booking for the sedan is expected to start within a few months.
