India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is all set to equip its Ciaz sedan with ISOFIX mounts for child seats. The mount will help the owners of the sedan to easily attach child seats in their cars.

The said mounts are attachment points, that are used to attach child seats to the rear bench of the car. The ISOFIX mounts ensure that the child seat is safely held in a place. These mounts are designed to securely hold a total of 33 kgs of weight. Once a child is strapped inside a seat, it helps to prevent injury during an accident. One can also use the seat belts provided to secure the child seats, but they are not as effective as ISOFIX mounts. Moreover these mounts hold the child seat in its position even during an accident or collision.

Maruti Suzuki came late in the party when it comes to equipping its cars with ISOFIX mounts. Ciaz’s main competitor, the Honda City is already equipped with this mount across all variants.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is making good money for the manufacturer, when it comes to the number of sales. The sale of Ciaz recorded a growth of 8 percent in the month of October. The sedan comes with two engine options - 1.4 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel. The petrol powered Ciaz can churn out 91 bhp of maximum power at 6000 rpm and 130 nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. While the diesel powered sedan can churn out 89 bhp of maximum power at 4000 rpm and 200 nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm. Maruti Suzuki has equipped the car with nice features such as automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver seat, steering mounted control, electrically adjustable ORVM etc. Safety features includes ABS, airbags, traction control and parking sensor.
