The most anticipated crossover, the Maruti Suzuki has been spied yet again, on the streets of Delhi-NCR. The car was spotted doing some test rounds wearing a full black camouflage wraparound, revealing very little of the details. In the spy images, the production ready guise wrapped in the thick camouflage seems similar to that of the concept version. The crossover sits on a wheelbase of 2,435 mm, with an overall length of 3,700 mm, width of 1,690 mm and 1,595 mm tall with a good ground clearance of 180 mm. It is currently on sale in the Japanese market, wherein the car is also offered with a four wheel drive system as optional. The exterior of the car has been complimented well with sunglass clad appearance and shark fin cuts on the C-pillar. Recently, a video showed that the gets unique designed alloy wheels and could feature a 15 or 16 inch alloy.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis will come fitted with features like digital MID, a Haramn Kardon touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth/USB connectivity, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control and reverse parking.
Speaking of the mechanicals, the car will most likely come packed with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox in India. The petrol unit is similar as seen in the swift that generates 85 bhp of maximum power with 115 Nm of peak torque, whereas the diesel mill dishes out a good power about 74 bhp and a torque of 190 Nm.
Maruti Suzuki also showcased the Ignis crossover at the 2016 Auto Expo. the company has not the launch date yet, but it is expected that the manufacture could schedule the launch by January 2017.
